Lights are Back On!!!

I want to apologize to those who are following this blog. We had a hurricane turned tropical storm over the weekend and we had a power outtage. Yes it did cost us our fridge! Lights were turned off from Sunday night until this morning. What an ordeal! It felt like the 18th century with just candles all over the house (and a battery operated radio haha) My hubby and I read fairy tales to each other. It was a challenging three days but it was all worth it without working electronics, cable or the internet. We spent quality time without these "necessary distractions" I am thankful too that we're safe and sound!

Now to go back to those lovely images, let me start with these:

Brightly colored flowers

Gorgeous flowers!

Those were the days...

Been so busy setting up my classroom that's why I wasn't able to post anything yesterday.
Anyways here are images from a milk pamphlet. Life was so simple back then.

Advertisements

How do you like these vintage ads? They would look great as background to any project.

We had a 5.9 earthquake today at around 2 PM. I was in a meeting then my chair started shaking. I really thought that someone was behind me and was trying to play a joke on me. Then I realized that I was in the back of the room and there was no one behind me. Then it hit me, yes it was an earthquake. Thankfully no one was hurt.

What You Rip is What You Sew

I have a sewing machine. I know how to use it. I've used it a couple of times to mend, to decorate a project, to make pillow cases and a very simple table skirt. Oh I and I also made a pair of shorts for myself and tiny clothes (which turned out deformed) for my Pullip and Blythe dolls. Never really got into it because I'm not so patient with patterns. But the sewing machine is handy. It is a must-have in any home.
